There were several video ideas for this trip, but I decided not to carry a video camera due to the weight versus the long term benefit of videos versus good photos.    Had I not been solo (you know the guy behind the camera, not the one in the frame) it would have made more sense.  I do have a few video photo compilations set to music though, with more in the works.

If you haven't noticed by navigating around the site...I am a movie nut and love great films.  I'm not one to trivialize the metaphorical value of great film content.

The Long Way Round is a documentary about two actors that rode big BMW tour bikes around the world.  This is adventure at the level of what I want to accomplish before time gets away from me.  If I can capture it all on video like these guys did, and spread it to the world...all the better.  If you can find this DVD, check it out...phenomenal and very inpirational.

Of course, can't leave out the Forrest Gump "Running on Empty" sequence.  As wonderful of a movie as has ever been made:
